Why DRIVEN runs on International Women’s Day

DRIVEN could be held on any weekend of the year. It is held on 8 March, International Women’s Day, every single edition. That is not a scheduling accident. It is the whole point.

A road full of women, on the one day everyone is watching

Women’s Day is full of messages. DRIVEN answers with a picture instead: hundreds of women behind the wheel and on the handlebars, flagging off through Bengaluru and owning the road for a day. It is a statement you can see from the pavement, not one you have to read.

The rally and the date say the same thing

DRIVEN is a TSD rally, calm, skilful and open to any woman with a licence and a car or a bike. First-timers are not just welcome, they are the majority, and they routinely finish on the podium. That is exactly the Women’s Day message in motion: this is for everyone, not just the experienced few.

Nine years of the same promise

Since 2017, DRIVEN has come back to Bengaluru every Women’s Day. Different women, different cars and bikes, the same idea repeated until it stops being remarkable and starts being normal: the road belongs to women too.
